idk :( I was thinking about trying to find soy shrimp, but I bet they’re not as good at home as they are in the restaurants. Maybe I will defrost some frozen veggie soup. OH NO WAIT! Paul is making General Tso’s Broccoli Tofu! I will mooch off that! \o/

“On a surface level, here’s my reading of what Lost was about: It was about this Island with mystical properties, which could be used for good, or could be used for evil—and which corrupts or improves those who live there, depending on their character. Our heroes were brought to The Island by its designated protector , Jacob, to try out for the position of his replacement, to make sure that The Island’s properties wouldn’t get misused after Jacob was gone. Some failed the test of The Island, while others were transformed and discovered their purpose in life, and how to achieve that purpose through community, not isolation. The Sideways universe summarized what they learned, offering a final bit of enlightenment before they moved on. On a deeper level though, Lost has been about legends and belief systems and how both get distorted and misinterpreted by broken human beings—which is to say all human beings. Even Jacob didn’t necessarily know the best way to use the power bestowed upon him, or how best to protect The Island. He tried going it alone; then he tried bringing people in. Similarly, our heroes went through several cycles of trial-and-error, working their way through personal narratives that touched on just about every significant bit of philosophy and fiction known to man. How would you describe your Tumblr and the content therein?

My tumblr is a place to post media that catches my eye, that moves me, that makes me laugh. Sometimes I want to make actual posts where I talk about my feelings, but I generally suppress that, because for me, that’s not what my tumblr is for. I sometimes see posts that I want to respond to, start a conversation or an argument about, or post my opinion about, but I almost always think better of it. My tumblr isn’t an opinion forum, and there are better ways of communication for that sort of thing. My tumblr is pictures and videos and funny quotes and sad quotes - I like the description of tumblr as an online scrapbook. It totally is!

A few months ago, we shot the “DVD on TV” episode for “The Departed” up in Boston. We traveled all around the city, talking to some of the real people who inspired the film- the ones who weren’t in hiding, that is. One of our locations was a bar in Southie where some of Whitey Bulger’s gang used…

Read this, it’s fucking fascinating. I love Dave Holmes, I think he’s so articulate and thoughtful (most times, anyway) and cool. I can’t wait for his Wanna Be A VJ story, and all the other stories about MTV and non-MTV things that he’s going to tell over the course of his life. FOUR FOR YOU DAVE HOLMES.

What are your favorite things about San Francisco?

OH MY GOD FORMSPRING QUESTIONS THANK YOU!!!!!

My favorite thing about San Francisco is how my sister lives there! But here are the other things I love about that city: my uncle lives there. The weather is very suited to me (or am I suited to it) because it stays pretty chilly, but also can get sunny. The vibe there is awesome - is that geeky? But it is! The people there feel like people in Portland, community-minded and liberal.

Also I am a little partial to gayness. SHOCKER. \o/!
